| bc | SCHOOL READERS School readers are becoming increasingly difficult to find, as most have been thrown out over the years. Ones by well-known authors are generally the most collectable, but people are now searching for them for many reasons: illustrations by famous artists, subject, publisher, etc. Whitcombe were a well-known publisher of high quality readers early this century and possibly up until the 1950s.
