Many of us have fond memories of  favourite and long cherished picture books found under the Christmas tree, or given to us by a loved aunt or uncle.

LEFT - To the left is a plate from 'Wizard - ' illustrated below.

BELOW - The Australian book on the left, illustrated by 'Armstrong' and written by Frances Chapman, has the rich Aussie flavour of the 1940s.. The plate on the right comes from 'Little Frolic', a delightful English children's book from around the end of the Great War.
